Walking to Boras is part of a group of works focusing on Pinocchio, including illustrations, paintings, and sculptures. Dine created this wood sculpture in preparation for the 30-foot-tall bronze statue Walking to Boras (2008), commissioned by the city of Borås, Sweden.
Jim Dine vio la adaptación cinematográfica de Pinocho hecha por Disney cuando tenía seis años. Desde niño, ha estado fascinado por la relación “mágica” entre creador y materia.
Camino a Boras forma parte de un grupo de obras creadas alrededor de la temática de Pinocho, que incluyen ilustraciones, pinturas y esculturas. Dine creó esta escultura en madera como preparación para la estatua homónima de bronce de 9 m de altura (2008), encargada por la ciudad de Borås, Suecia.
