Label TextPainted in a stripped-down, direct style, R.A. Miller’s Coca-Cola Bottle still flaunts the unmistakable hourglass design instantly associated with the Coca-Cola brand. One of his many paintings depicting the popular soft drink, this one is particularly notable for its scale. At nearly six feet tall, the bottle stands at human height. In this way, the work functions as both a contemporary still life drawn from everyday surroundings, but also a celebrity portrait of a true American icon: the Coca-Cola bottle.
