Jason’s work has been pushing the conceptual boundaries of traditional portrait painting and drawing through his relationship with his grandparents, exploring age and mortality in contrast to the historical glorification of youth and immortality in our culture.
Yarmosky graduated with a BFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York City in 2010. His paintings and drawings have been exhibited and collected internationally. His work has been featured in numerous publications including the Wall Street Journal, Art Forum, Artnet, Blouin Artinfo, Complex, Juxtapoz, American Artist Drawing, American Art Collector, and The Huffington Post, and he is a past winner of the Elizabeth Greenshields Award. His work has been exhibited at the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, San Antonio Museum of Art, Brigham Young University Museum of Art, South Dakota Art Museum, Yellowstone Art Museum, Huntsville Museum of Art among others, and with galleries in New York City, Los Angeles, Paris, and Brussels. He has recently had solo exhibitions at the Huntington Museum of Art and the University of Maine Museum of Art.
Jason currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
