Label TextFelrath Hines was committed to the idea that abstract forms could enable universal connections because they did not reference a specific person, place, or thing. Throughout his career, he explored the use of color and shape. Like Helen Frankenthaler and Mark Rothko, whose works are on view nearby, Hines strove to create universal expressions of truth and feeling through his paintings.
