Label TextNorman Rockwell used perspective and recognizable imagery to communicate power. Rosie sits above the viewer, mid-bite and with a confident pose. Her bright red hair and blue denim uniform echo the American flag waving in the background. Her foot sits atop Adolf Hitler’s hateful text, Mein Kampf, signaling the significance of women to the US war effort during World War II.
