Label TextThe title refers to the infant cradled in the woman’s lap. An early version of this print was published in a 1902 magazine that called attention to the public health crisis caused by tampered milk. Théophile Alexandre Steinlen regularly contributed to political magazines with work that depicted the social inequities he encountered while living in Paris.

El título hace referencia al bebé acunado en el regazo de la mujer. Una primera versión de este grabado se publicó en una revista de 1902 que llamaba la atención sobre la crisis de salud pública provocada por leche que había sido alterada. Théophile Alexandre Steinlen colaboraba regularmente en revistas políticas con obras que describían las desigualdades sociales que encontraba mientras vivía en París.
