Markingsverso, c., label: I found this little ink sketch pasted into my old / journal between the dates 3/10/57 and 3/39-30/58 @ p.68 / and set at a section of translations from Baudelaire. / It is on lined paper and I vaguely recall it to be a / doodle I did in a classroom notebook and transfered / here, probably sometime in the year after 3/57. It is / obviously the sketch for this painting and I am past- / ing a xerox of it on the back as documentation.
