Label TextIn this drawing, Paul Cadmus lovingly defines every detail of the subject’s musculature through a technique called hatching and cross-hatching. A series of parallel and bisecting marks, laid out in a lattice-type pattern across the skin, creates the suggestion of curves and shadows. Color is used sparingly, with most of the back and arms defined with white highlights, allowing the brown and peachy flesh tones to fill in the shadows.
