Label TextPaul Lacroix depicted the floating water lilies with an almost scientific precision. Each lily is shown from a different angle, giving a more complete picture of the flower. The brightness of the white petals, protecting the fragile yellow stamens, contrasts with the dark-colored surroundings. While the water appears in dark hues, it is still so crystal clear that the stems of the plant can be seen underneath the surface.
