Label TextGeorge Cochran Lambdin specialized in flower paintings. White, Pink, Yellow and Red Roses reflects an intimate knowledge of roses with flowers in various stages of bloom. Lambdin often found his subjects in his own rose gardens in Germantown, Pennsylvania, an important center for American horticulture. He was not dedicated to a completely accurate representation, though. Here, roses of multiple colors appear to bloom from a single bush.
