Label TextTo make Car Horn, Nancy Grossman assembled objects that looked like they came from a junkyard, commenting on increasing American consumption. However, the tubes, openings, and leather also refer to the human body. Grossman collected these objects from Bolton Landing, a property in upstate New York owned by fellow artist David Smith, who passed away in a car accident earlier that year.
