Label TextDoherty is fascinated by the role seedbanks play in sustaining nature, which humans depend upon for existence. Doherty captures x-rays of plant materials and recombines them into large collages. The transformation of a small seedling into a larger image allows for the same type of growth that would occur in the natural life cycle of the plants. Unlike real plants, however, the growth of these seedlings is suspended in perpetuity, never changing.
