Label TextEach tiny garment in this work was carefully hand-stitched by Charles LeDray, who was taught to sew by his mother when he was four years old. The miniature clothes and small hangers suggest a narrative of personal history and use, yet the scale is non-functional and the meaning is masked. LeDray instead introduces complex questions about identity, role playing, and masculinity into the miniature suits, dresses, and robes. Is our clothing a costume we use to mask ourselves?
