Label TextA snowball fight is a familiar rite of passage in childhood winter horseplay, and a subject frequently depicted by John George Brown. The boy seen here is in the midst of such a battle. Two missed shots left their mark on the wall to his side, spraying him with the snow found on his cap and shoulder. With his perfectly compacted snowball in hand, he peeks around the corner and lifts his leg ready to strike his opponent.
